we could have been rockstars.

Untitled-1
When I was in high school, I had a secret dream that involved me singing with Lashelle at the local Earth Day festival. (Remember "Earthfest"? Yeah, it was pretty amazing.) If you've never heard me sing, consider yourself lucky. I can kind of hold a tune (sometimes) but I'm pretty sure that any attempt to sing in public would have ended in me feeling completely and utterly embarrassed. Even so, I had this dream. And when we were in college, I confessed the dream to Lashelle, only to find out that she had the same dream! Seriously. The same one.

So, I clearly did not make it as a singer, but I love that Lashelle and I are both pursuing a more tangible dream (for us, anyway). She is still one of my dearest friends and is currently a photographer in Durham, NC. (If you've been following my blog for awhile, you've seen her sweet family already!) Last weekend, we went down to visit her family, and here are a few quick photos that I grabbed of Lashelle, John, and Hayston on our trip to the Duke Gardens. (Just FYI: Trying to take a family photo with three kids in tow was not a brilliant idea... Caleb, Maggie, and Hayston had a simultaneous meltdown!)

And this is a sneak peek of the fun afternoon that Hayston and Maggie spent playing in the yard. Check out Lashelle's blog for more of those pics!

Thanks for having us, Chappell's! We can't wait to see you again. :)

Ohh Indigo Girls, you & your harmonies convincing teen girls they have talent. Kris I love these mostly because they are all precious and because they are the bestest family ever.
