sweet baby olive.

Untitled-2
When I graduated from college, I moved back to Warrenton and taught English at my old high school. I don't know what it is about that first year post-college, but it has the potential to be a little depressing, and I feel like that could have easily been the case for me. I didn't have any teaching experience, and I felt more than a little overwhelmed when I was in my classroom. But... that year was actually amazing. I look back on it as one of the sweetest years of my whole life. Seriously. It was awesome. And I have Katie to thank for so much of that. She was my roommate and we lived in this amazing apartment right on main street in Old Town Warrenton. She was also a teacher, and gave me endless hours of guidance and advice as I tried to navigate through my first year. And if you've ever met Katie, you know that she's genuine, supportive, wise, and absolutely hilarious. I could never begin to thank her for the stability that she gave me that year.

And that very same year, Katie met Tommy. I love that I had a front row seat to their developing relationship! Tommy is just as talented and thoughtful as Katie, and I was so honored to stand up with them on their wedding day. And I was even more excited when they welcomed baby Olive into the world two years ago! Because, really, that's what this post is about... Sweet baby Olive. And how she's almost perfect... And how she likes to laugh... And how she feels comfortable holding my hand while we walk around Meadows Farms... And how she just celebrated her second birthday. I love that I was able to capture her at this special age...

You are amazing, Kris. Thanks for the gift of these sweet photos of our girl - and for your friendship over these many years. Your "front row seat" to Tommy and my relationship was sometimes more like a ring side seat! We love you for who you are -- and we LOVE these portraits!
