my family twelve times | july

Untitled-1
Untitled-2
july | at a glance.

-- These two photos were taken on our family's trip to Smith Mountain Lake. We forgot to take a family photo while we were there.. oops!

-- Tim and I celebrated our six-year-anniversary on July 3rd. Six years! At the same time, I feel like we just got married and we've been married forever.

-- On the 4th, we took the kids to see fireworks for the very first time. Maggie was pretty scared at first, but she slowly loosened up and ended up really loving it! Caleb feel asleep about about two minutes before the show started and ended up missing the whole thing.

-- Maggie's new favorite game is hide-and-seek. She loves hiding for the first minute, and then she jumps out of her hiding spot squealing, "Here I am! Ta-da! You found me!" It cracks me up.

-- Caleb started crawling! He actually began to crawl at the very beginning of July, and I was shocked! He has perfected the inchworm crawl and can get across the room in about three seconds.

-- Maggie has started saying, "I don't want to tell you, please" when I ask her to describe certain things. I don't know if I should push the issue or just be thankful that she's (sort of) being polite.

-- Apparently, Caleb has started to really enjoy the sound of his own voice.
He will sit in the middle of the room and babble as loud as he can. If you mimic the sounds that he's making, he just gets louder.

-- Maggie has really started to enjoy talking to people that she doesn't know. I used to believe that she was shy, but I think she's gotten over it! If we are sitting next to someone in a restaurant or waiting in line at the grocery store, I can pretty much count on Maggie saying, "Hi! I'm Maggie!" She usually likes to go on by describing who Caleb is and what she's going to do that day. "This is Caleb! I'm going to Jack's house!" So. Funny.

-- On a particularly overwhelming day this past month, I sat in my office and wrote down the following goals for the next week/month/year of my life... I'm hoping that admitting to them on my blog will help me to actually keep them!
* I will plant a vegetable garden
* I will start planning more outings for Maggie and Caleb
* I am going to start running again
* I want to work less and laugh more
* I want to read more... just for fun... and regularly walk to Border's
* I want to make photo albums for MY family

Thanks for reading!

I just started running this week! If you are like me and need someone to keep you accountable I could use a running buddy!
