happy new year! | 2010

I realized something yesterday... New Year's Eve is not the same with children! I know that Maggie has been around for awhile, but having two kids really changes things. Last night, Tim and I traded in spending the evening with friends for a fun dinner at home. We spread out a blanket in our family room and had a picnic with food from our favorite Thai restaurant. (Fun fact: Maggie is the only two-year-old I know who LOVES Thai spring rolls!) And we both agreed that it was one of our favorite New Year's Eve celebrations. Ever.

I really love welcoming in a new year because it gives me a reason to look back and reflect on the previous twelve months. This year has been nothing short of amazing! Our family has grown by one, and Caleb has already brought us so much joy. This week he started to smile, and I could look for that little grin all day long! I have also loved all the celebrations and family milestones that I was invited to photograph. My clients are incredible, and I am constantly reminded of the fact that I have the most amazing job! I can't wait to share images from some of the shoots I have in store for 2010. I promise that maternity leave won't last forever!
