April | At a glance
-- This was the first time that our photo was actually taken in the month that I'm writing about! Hooray! Thanks so much for the picture, Lashelle!
-- This month, Caleb finally rolled over! However, he rolled over from back to front. He still hasn't done it from his tummy, and I'm pretty sure that's how most babies start. I like to think that he's already trying to assert his individuality.
-- Maggie sings to Caleb when he cries. Sometimes, it actually works and he stops crying and just stares at her. The other day, in the car, Maggie tried to soothe him by saying, "Sh.. Sh.. Caleb, I love you so much. I give you lots and lots of kisses. And then you feel better." When we got home, before I even took him out of his carrier, I ran into my office and wrote down those words.
-- I've made a deal with Maggie that if she sees me on my computer, all she has to do is ask me to get off, and I will. I'm trying really hard to listen to her every time.
-- This month, Tim was named the "Teacher of the Year" at his school. I'm so proud of him!
-- Last week, we went to Chik-fil-A for dinner, and Maggie encountered the man in the cow costume for the very fist time. I don't think I've ever seen her look quite so terrified! It took us all night to convince her that the cow was not going to come to our house and "get" her. She still brings up that stupid cow at least once a day. She'll say, "The cow is nice, right?" or "Will the cow come in my room?" Poor thing. When I thought about it later, that cow was pretty large. I don't know if we should take her back or avoid it all together.
-- April has been full of so many fun engagement shoots! On that note, I forgot to mention in this post that, along with being gorgeous, Kristyn is also a photographer! Check out her blog... she's awesome.
-- I've mapped out a plan to redecorate our house without spending a lot of money. If you see me, please do ask about it! I want to make sure that I follow through with all of my grand ideas.
-- Tim and I have decided that, at this age anyway, Caleb is much easier than Maggie was in all ways but one. The "one" thing is that he won't sleep consistently. And I guess that's a pretty big one. When Maggie was little, I was so dedicated to helping her "learn" how to sleep well. But when Caleb cries, all I can think about is whether or not he's going to wake up Maggie. Because, really, one awake baby in the middle of the night is much easier to deal with than two! Oh well... For now, he really likes it when we hold him during sleep time.
-- Maggie likes to get really close to Caleb and interact with him. I've asked her more than a few times not to grab his face or hug him quite so tight. And she always responds with, "Caleb likes it. He laughing!" And she's almost always right.
Thanks for reading! My wedding season starts this month, and I'm so excited! Check back soon for a few really fun shoots.
